History
A Diversified Hard Assets Platform
MLog was created in 2015 from the merger of Asgaard Shipping and Manabi Mining (today, MOPI).
Asgaard Shipping was incorporated in 2013 by Maverick to be its asset in the shipping business, initially focused on supplying offshore supply vessels for the oil and gas sector.
Asgaard has been executing a fleet development plan focused on new built Brazilian offshore vessels.
Manabi was created in 2011 by the combination of executives with long term experience in hard assets development and management, and some of the most prominent global institutional investors, which invested a combined $850 million in the company.
Manabi’s initial plan was based on the acquisition of important iron ore mineral rights in the State of Minas Gerais, a 3,000 acres land in Linhares, State of Espirito Santo, where its Iron Ore Port would be built and a plan to develop the mine and its logistics through a slurry pipeline connecting the mine to the Linhares Port.
MOPI already holds Preliminary License to its iron ore mining project and is under way to obtain its Construction License.
In 2016, MLog acquired CNA – Amazon Shipping Company, a liquid cargo inland shipping company that is a leading player in the Brazilian Amazon region.
